What are “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” and “Targeted Advertising” Opt-Out Rights?

Pret cares about your privacy and offers all our customers choices about how we use their information. Some states provide residents with the right to opt out of the “selling” or “sharing” of their personal information, or of “targeted advertising” based on their personal information.

Advertising, including targeted advertising, enables Pret to provide you with information about products, service and offers that are more relevant to you. To provide this advertising, Pret allows third parties to receive certain information to add to a profile about your device, browser, or you.

Certain laws broadly define “sale” and “sharing” of personal information in a way that may include allowing third parties to receive the information detailed above. In addition, this activity may be defined by law to be sharing or processing personal information for “targeted advertising” and you can opt out using the instruction below.

Pret does not collect “Sensitive Personal Information” as defined by data protection law.

Targeted Advertising Opt-Outs:

To submit a request to opt out of targeted advertising, or the sale or sharing of your personal information, you may choose one of the following options;

If you reside in a state that provides the right to opt out of the “selling” or “sharing” of personal information, click the “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link on our website consent banner which will be presented to you on your first visit to our site and at regular intervals thereafter.

For all other customers, click the “Customize my choices” link on our website consent banner which will be presented to you on your first visit to our site and at regular intervals thereafter. You can reject all or separately opt out of targeted advertising

You can choose to update your preferences at any time, by clicking the “Cookies Settings” button at the bottom of our website or "Privacy Settings" in the application settings menu. You will then be shown a Consent Management Platform (CMP), this tool allows you to opt out of the “sale” of your personal information by sharing or processing it for targeted advertising purposes.

In addition to the above opt out tools which are specific to Pret, you may choose to enable online a universal tool that automatically communicates your opt-out preferences, such as the Global Privacy Control (“GPC”). We will process the GPC signal as a request to opt out.

When enabling advertising opt-out tools please understand the following:

The opt-outs described above are device and browser based. Because the information being shared relates to your device ID and/or browser ID, you will need to opt out on each device and each browser that you use to access Pret sites and applications.

Opt-outs may be stored via cookies. If you clear cookies or if your browser blocks cookies, your opt-out cookie may no longer be available. In this case your opt-out choices can no longer be honored and should be set again.

If you opt out, you will still see adverts but they may be less relevant or, depending on your choice, based only on our first-party information about you.

Pret may still use your data for nontargeted advertising purposes, such as attribution and analytics unless you also opt out of these purposes.
